Hospice Survey and Certification Manual

 

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) is pleased to offer the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) most up-to-date Medicare surveyor guidelines, from the Medicare State Operations Manual (SOM).  

This document contains the pertinent portions from Pub. 100-7 that affect hospice in Chapters:  1 - Program Background and Responsibilities, 2 – The Certification Process, 3 – Additional Program Activities, 5 – Complaint Procedures and Appendix M  - Guidance to Surveyors:  Hospice.

Appendix M includes hospice conditions of participation and the guidelines to surveyors specific to providers of the Medicare Hospice Benefit.
